Public Information Events
Feedback received during Phase 1 and Phase 2 consultations along with environmental and technical information has played an important part in selecting the proposed sites for a landfall and converter station as well as the proposed cable route corridor for the pair of direct current (DC) underground cables between the landfall and the converter station sites (known as the purple route corridor). Route options at the north and south ends of the corridor have also been confirmed as well as a reduction in the width of the proposed corridor of interest.
Planning applications for the Viking Link UK Onshore Scheme will be submitted during summer 2017. Before submitting these applications, Viking Link held four Public Information Events to share its draft proposals with local communities.
