Investment decision to be rescheduled
The project partners Energinet and National Grid had initially scheduled the project’s final investment decision (FID) to take place in March 2018.
Meanwhile, the project partners have chosen to reschedule FID until further clarity is achieved with respect to UK planning consents. The planning consents form the basis for the offshore and onshore construction work. As the signing of cable and converter contracts were originally scheduled to be concluded this summer, the delay will also have impact on the signing of these. The commissioning of Viking Link, initially targeted for the end of 2022, will also be affected.
The project partners are currently revising their schedule and expect to have a revised plan ready at the end of April 2018.
